 Bettles Alasks
Version 1-0, 03/07, for FS2004 only

Givin the location of bettles, I thought it would make a good airport for a distribution center for north central Alaska.
So far we have a new hangar and office. Picked up A DC-3 From the old Challenger airline in Wyoming.
Also have the mail contract. Will be making two trips to Anchorage each week for mail and supplies. To make local deliverys will be using beavers. Working on the AI update for that.

Installation
PLEASE NOTE:
I expect that if you have already installed the Rwy12 Static Objects Library it is in the usual location (FS2004/Addon Scenery/Static Objects Library). If not, you will need to move the files I've placed into that location into your Static Objects Library folder (scenery files into Scenery, texture files into Texture). If you have not installed Rwy12 there is a list of files to download and place in the Static Objects Library.

2. Now download from Avsim and install any of the following object libraries THAT YOU DO NOT ALREADY HAVE INSTALLED ON YOUR SYSTEM. Follow the installation instructions that come with the libraries. (Note: You might not need all of these libraries for this scenery, but if you plan on using sceneries designed by folks using EZ-Scenery, you will eventually need them anyway. Note OK TO Mix Rwy12 AND EZ-Scenery FILES

IFyou have VOZ loaded you have a good Objects Library, just need to Add, fg_vert_logistics.zip, fg_vert_textures.zip, ez-fuel tanks.zip.

You may want to print out these instructions and check off each step as you finish it.

INSTALLATION

This EXE installer will NOT create a Start Menu entry, registry entry,
or anything else, other than uninstall program. copying the relevant files to the proper folders. You may
install to a temporary folder by pressing the ... button and copying things by hand if you wish.

1. Quit FS2004 if running.

2. Double click the Bettles Alaska.exe file to start the installation. If it doesn't
find your FS2004 folder automatically, press the ... button and browse to it.
(WinXP: press the Run button at the warning screen.) Follow the instructions to install.

3. Start FS2004, and go to the Settings/Scenery Library choice on the
opening screen. If you are currently flying, press Escape (Esc) and then End
Flight to get to this screen. click on the Add Area button. Double click the
ADDON SCENERY folder. Click the Bettles PABT. Click OK.

4. If you have not already installed the Rwy12 Static Objects Library (look
for a Static Objects Library layer in this list), click on the Add Area button.
Double click the ADDON SCENERY folder. Click the Static Objects Library folder
once. Click OK. Click the Move Down button until the Static Objects Library
layer is just above the Propeller Objects layer.

5. Click OK. Quit and restart FS.

9. If at the main screen, choose Create Flight at the left, select desired items, and
press Fly Now. Choose Options/Settings/Display. Under Scenery Objects set the
Scenery Density to Dense or less (setting to Very or Extremely Dense will display modern
jetways at default airports). Also, set the Autogen Density to Dense or less
(any higher may display telephone poles in odd places at the airport); this will also
simulate the less dense cities found in the era. Click OK.

If you have a less powerful computer and you get low frame rates, try setting the Scenery Density
to Normal or lower. This will remove detail objects and improve the frame rate.
